Simply, Habitat For Humanity Is An International Organization That Helps Supply Hardworking Families With Affordable Housing.

Is This Club Actually Associated With The Real Organization?

Yes! We Are Part Of The Raritan Valley Youth Habitat Chapter. Habitat For Humanity Clubs From Several Schools Near Us Are Also Part Of This Chapter And We Will Participate In Various Fundraisers With Those Other Clubs.

What Kind Of Club Is Habitat? What Can I Expect?

You Can Expect Really Friendly People And The Opportunity To Make A Difference. We Are A Fairly Large Club That Has Been Around For A Few Years Which Will Give You The Chance To Meet So Many New People. The Time Commitment Is What You Want It To Be. If You Want To Come To Every Meeting And Every Fundraiser That Is Awesome But If You Are Super Busy And Can Only Come To A Few Fundraisers And Some Meetings Thats Fine. Being A Service Club, We Will Take And Appreciate All The Help And Support We Can Get Whenever We Can! You Can Definitely Expect A Fun Time With Your Friends While Doing Some Good

Do We Actually Get To Build Houses?

YES! We Have 2 Build Days A Year, One In The Fall And One In The Spring. However, To Attend These You Must Be 16. On Build Days We Usually Have A Separate Fundraiser Going On For Younger Club Members

Where Does The Money We Raise Go?

We Send The Money Directly To Our Chapter Office For Raritan Valley Youth Habitat. We Are One Of The Largest Clubs In The Chapter And Donate A Couple Thousand Dollars Each Year.

Do We Get Volunteer Hours?

Yes! Everyone Gets Service Hours For Every Meeting And Fundraiser You Attend. We Keep Track Of How Many Hours You Earn With The Help Of Our Website. When You Need Proof Of Service Hours For Either Sophomore History Or NHS, We Will Give You A Signed Form With Them On It For You To Hand In. Habitat For Humanity Being Such A Large International Organization Is Very Well Known. Having This On A Resume Or Showing You Achieved Your Service Hours Here Can Really Stand Out And Whoever Is Reading It Will Already Have An Idea What Kind Of Person You Are.

When Are The Meetings?

We Do Not Have A Set Schedule For Meetings Because There Will Only Be A Meeting When We Need one. When We Do Have Meetings, They Will Be In Lecture Hall A , Either At 7 am Before School Or After School At 2:30. You Would Only Need To Attend One Of These Meetings

Are There Leadership Opportunities?

Because We Have One Of The Biggest Clubs We Need One Of The Biggest Leadership Group. There Are Over 10 Positions Which Anyone Can Apply For In June. The Only Exception To This Would Be Freshman Rep Which Is Picked In September. You Will Receive More Information On How To Become An Officer In June, But We Will Say Being An Active Club Member Is One Of Most Important Thing We Look For.
